Okay, so no one REALLY knows why in the world GM would opt to not equip a high powered Duramax engine with a factory lift pump. I suppose that will remain a mystery never to be solved. The good news is that there are plenty of options on the market to retrofit your Duramax with one and it delivers plenty of benefits to include enhanced and consistent fuel delivery, as well as superior fuel filtration. With the installation of pumps such as these, while you can typically retain your factory fuel pickup assembly, you are required to splice the return line into the filler neck that can leak or even cause air to become entrapped in the fuel. Why not have a high flowing, quality sending unit that you can install your return line into?
SureFlo performance sending units are designed to work with aftermarket lift pumps or even as a direct replacement to your failed sending unit and fits directly into your stock sending unit location. It features factory style quick disconnects to adapt your stock fuel lines at the tank, giving you the cleanest installation available, and requiring no cutting or drilling of the tank. SureFlo works by drawing fuel from, and returning fuel to, the bucket assembly at the base of the unit.
